Study: Live Videos on Facebook Generate 600% More Interactions than Regular Videos

By now, marketers are aware of the positive engagement videos can generate on social media. On average, Facebook videos receive 135% more organic reach than photos alone. However, live videos are garnering much more engagement among viewers than standard videos.

In a recent news release, Facebook said that live videos generate 600% more Facebook interactions than regular videos. However, a recent report found that only 31% of businesses utilize live video. While live video appears to be an effective Facebook tactic, most companies are still not utilizing it citing lack of time and limited budgets.

The more popular content is on Facebook, the more likely people will see it in their newsfeeds. Therefore, companies who obtain more interactions on posts will rank higher in follower’s news feeds, and likely gather even more engagement and discussion. With only about one in three businesses utilizing live video, it appears to be a big marketing opportunity for 2018.
