Study: Consumers Most Likely to Leave Reviews on Google

Consumers have easy access to a range of ratings and reviews from many different platforms when deciding where to have their next meal. Smartphones also make it easy to leave reviews following a visit to a new spot.
A recent survey of 500 consumers from GatherUp revealed that 29% are most likely to leave a restaurant review on Google. The remaining top 5 sites included Yelp (24%), Facebook (21%), Trip Advisor (17%) and Open Table (5%). The study also highlighted that more than 58% of consumers use reviews to help make a restaurant selection at least 25% of the time.
While other surveys may show a somewhat different ranking, Google has become the top platform for restaurant reviews. And because 85% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations, it’s vital for marketers to focus their efforts on obtaining them, particularly on Google.
