Study: 71% of Amazon Advertisers Spend 25% of Digital Ad Budgets on Amazon

Amazon remains a force to be reckoned with in the e-commerce marketing, accounting for 53% of all e-commerce sales growth in 2016 and 5% of total retail sales in US. And according to a recent report, that growth has extended into the digital advertising market.

Third Door Media’s “Amazon Advertising Forecast 2019” revealed that 71% of marketers who currently advertise on Amazon spend up to a quarter of their digital ad budgets on the platform. Additionally, 80% of current advertisers plan to increase their Amazon ad budgets, 20% of whom plan an increase of 50% or more.

Although Amazon’s digital ad popularity is rising, the report identified various issues associated with advertising on the platform, including inadequate reporting (46%), optimization tactics (43%) and getting support from Amazon client services (34%). While Amazon’s ad business continues to grow, it will need to address these issues to sustain and accelerate ad growth.
