On Target Podcast: Dr. W. Michael Cox, Former Chief Economist
April 13, 2017 | Contributed by: Joe Morsello
Dr. W. Michael Cox holds the unique distinction of being the Federal Reserve’s only chief economist in history. He served for 25 years advising Fed leaders Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke on monetary and economic policy and is the author of numerous articles for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times, and Investor’s Business Daily.
Dr. Cox spoke with LSA’s Greg Sterling about “The Imagination Age,” the next stage of American economic development where “imagination, creativity and vision have ascended to being the most dear and most valuable human assets.” This new age, according to Dr. Cox, is being driven by technology and innovation.
During the discussion, Dr. Cox explains the various personality traits and capabilities that people need in order to succeed in this new era. The Imagination Age values the ability to see what technology can do vs. what it does do today and people must leave convention and assumptions behind in order to succeed.
