Facing challenges from big-brand competition like Amazon and other national chains, small businesses are recognizing the importance of being tech first. As small businesses begin to embrace this mindset, many are beginning to adopt useful software and tools from various providers that will help streamline their business processes.
According to 2017 data from LSA’s Tech Adoption Index, 29% of SMBs have adopted a cloud-based service with many more planning to utilize new technology in coming months. Additionally, a Microsoft study revealed that 78% of SMBs will have adapted cloud computing by 2020.
This shift in technology has brought about the “Cloud Native” SMB, which refers to business owners of Millennial age or younger who’ve opened or inherited a business and possess a cloud-first orientation. MarTech and marketing service providers are now left with figuring out how to market their services to this new style of SMB.
A new report from LSA (commissioned by Vendasta), “The Full-Stack, Tech-First Future,” sheds some light on the shifting SMB market, specifically looking at how SMBs are utilizing cloud-based tools and SaaS for their businesses. But the majority of the report explores how B2B sellers should adapt strategies to fit changing expectations and priorities of these new SMB owners.
