Gene Wilk is Manager of Public Policy at the Local Search Association and is based in the Association’s executive office in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Mr. Wilk plays a key role in the Association’s efforts to provide the industry with an effective voice in state legislatures and city halls across the country.
Prior to joining the Local Search Association, Mr. Wilk was a Strategic Planning Manager at the Office of Policy & Planning of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. He also worked on Capitol Hill for nearly nine years, serving as Communications Director and Senior Legislative Assistant to U.S. Representative Adam B. Schiff (CA-29) and Senior Legislative Assistant to U.S. Representative Robert Wexler (FL-19). Before moving to Washington, D.C., Mr. Wilk worked for more than five years as Legislative Assistant to Florida Representative Tracy Stafford in both his district office in Ft. Lauderdale and capitol office in Tallahassee.
Mr. Wilk is a newspaper journalism graduate of California State University Northridge where he was a member of both the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and the Kappa Tau Alpha national journalism honor society.
